Arby's Cat in Wallpaper progress When Director Dave Merhar
called us up for this Arby's spot, he knew it was right up our alley.
We used a static form for the cat's body, and cleverly covered it with
wallpaper. For the tail we created a cable-controlled, sinuous
"tentacle" mechanism, which was then covered with an orange tabby fur
transfer (all synthetic fur). Below, see the progress page we had the
Director and Client review so we could get the effect just right. Video
of the movement tests are located about mid-page. No animals were
harmed during the making of this spot! "At

To eliminate the propogating/radiating folds, we've done something
different.
We prewrapped the cat, and then cut an outline around it in a pristine
piece of paper.
Pros: Looks pretty much like what (I think) was described to me; a
cleaner central panel of wallpaper covering the cat with the cat form
bulging out of it, with the tail end at the right edge of the paper.
A question: The wall paper is NOT "palindromic", that is, each sheet
has a dark green edge on the right, and a light green edge on the left,
and this reverses if you turn it upside down. So, we need to know:
Which way are you going to be hanging the paper in the room? Darker
stripe rightmost, or light stripe rightmost?
